Kerry: US to issue visas for same-sex spouses

News came out today that the United States will finally consider visa applications of same sex couples. This is great news because ever since the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) the government has not been able to consider same sex applications because that action would be illegal. For too long, if one spouse was in the United States while waiting for their other half to join them, they would have to decide between staying with the person that they loved or being split up under current government policy which was cruel and painful and was being pursued for no legitimate reason other than to treat same sex couples as second class citizens.
